Allston is a diverse section of Boston that is historically known for its close proximity to many colleges and universities in the area. Today, the area has become more diverse in culture and by effect you will find many ethnic restaurants and shops in the area.
Once a part of Brighton, Allston is still commonly referred to as “the Allston-Brighton area” even though it is its own neighborhood. A youthful area, Allston’s population is predominantly a younger crowd with a heavy influence on students and young professionals. Housing stock is in large part brick buildings with either condos or apartments on the main thoroughfares and multi-family dwellings found on most side streets.
