Move in Check List

Picking up Keys: Keys can be picked up at our office-665 Boylston St- at 12:00 noon on the day of the lease start.

Early move-ins will not be permitted unless further authorized by the landlord.

Executed Lease: You will receive a fully executed lease within 30 days of the lease start date.

Apartment Condition Statement:

This is to be filled out and returned to the landlord within 15 days of the lease start date.

Rental Insurance:

We highly recommend renters insurance to insure against any loss or damage to your belongings.

Post Office:

Alert the post office of your move to your new address.

Bank Account:

We recommend setting up an account with a local bank as well as ordering checks with your name and new address on them.

Moving:

Permit : To reserve a parking spot for moving you need to apply at least 2 weeks ahead of your move and no more than a month before, or you must come in person 3 days before your move.

If you are using a moving truck or van the one day parking permit is recommended.

A Standard Permit reserves two spaces from 7am-5pm.

Signs need to be posted in the spots you’d like to reserve at least 2 days before your move.

To apply in person visit Boston Public Works in Room 721 at City Hall
Monday through Friday 9am-5pm

You will be given a flyer to alert your neighbors a few days before your move.

This can be distributed to adjacent buildings and placed on cars within a half a block of your reserved space.

Important:

North End Restrictions

May parades and celebrations take place in the North End during the summer.

For a permit needed in the North End between June 1 and August 31 please contact special events liaison Patricia Papa @ 617-828-2509.

One day permit for 2 non metered spaces(includes 2 signs): $69
One day permit for 2 metered spaces is an additional $40

Precautions:

You can’t drive moving trucks on Storrow Drive due to the low clearance

  • To apply for the permit, your car will need to be registered in Massachusetts.
  • You will need to bring a copy of your cars registration, a fully executed lease, and a filled out resident permit application to the parking clerk.
